Being a woman comes with its fair share of perks in the world of credit cards. Specifically, woman’s cards which are designed to reward women with additional perks. Besides the UOB Lady’s Card, the DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World Cards are two other popular cards dedicated to women.
The DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World Card can be considered to be especially progressive because you don’t actually have to be female (or be defined as such by the law) to apply. Talk about being progressive!
In any case, we’re not here to debate gender politics but to see if this card is worth getting. Let’s dive into the details.

1. DBS Woman’s vs Woman’s World Card: What’s the difference?
Let’s get the obvious question out of the way before we delve into the specifics. What is the difference between the DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World card? Two things: annual income, and the reward points you receive.
The DBS Woman’s Card is the entry-level credit card for people with an annual income of $30,000 and above.
Meanwhile, the DBS Woman’s World Card is a posher, higher tier card with more attractive benefits. To qualify, you’ll need to have an annual income of $80,000 and above.
As with most higher tiered credit cards, the DBS Woman’s World Card offers higher rewards points earn rates which we’ll review below.
2. DBS Woman’s vs Woman’s World Cards: Reward Points
Both the DBS Woman’s Card and Woman’s World Card dole out rewards points when you shop online or make other purchases. Both cards do not have a minimum spending requirement.
DBS Woman’s Card | DBS Woman’s World Card | |
Base Points | 1X DBS Points per $5 | 1X DBS Points per $5 |
Bonus Points | + 4X DBS Points per S$5 | + 9X DBS Points per S$5 + 7X DBS Points per $5 (foreign currency) |
Bonus Category | Online spend (all transactions via internet) | Online spend (all transactions via internet) |
Bonus Category Spend Cap | Only on the first S$1,000 online spend per calendar month | Only on the first S$2,000 online spend per calendar month |
Overseas Spend (Foreign currency) | – | + 2X DBS Points per $5 |
Note that you only earn points for every $5 spent – a common practice in the credit cards industry. Although the cards advertise as 10 miles per $1 spent, that’s actually not how it works. So, if most of your expenditure are under $5, you won’t be earning any points at all.
At 10X DBS points per $5 spend online, the DBS Woman’s World Card is a very good rewards credit card – definitely better than its entry-level DBS Woman’s Card counterpart. If your annual income exceeds $80,000, then you’ll earn more points with the World card.
The 10X bonus points only applies to the first $2,000 you spend online in a calendar month – also a great reason to curb your expenditure.
These reward points can then be converted to air miles, shopping vouchers, petrol vouchers, etc. from the DBS Reward Points Catalogue. However, as a DBS Woman’s Card user myself, I’ve realised that redeeming NTUC vouchers give you the best value for your points.
3. DBS Woman’s vs Woman’s World Cards: Exclusions
While you’re busy trying to chalk up your DBS Points, keep in mind that there are exclusions that do not qualify as online spend. Read: Even if you charged the following to your DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World cards, you will not earn DBS Points for these transactions.
- School fees
- Hospital bills
- Insurance payments
- Utility bills
- Payments made via online banking
- Government services
- Purchase of crypto currencies
- Bank payments
- Top-up of funds on GrabPay, EzLink, NETS FlashPay etc.)
If you’re thinking of raking up your DBS Points by charging your electricity bills, insurance payments, or your crypto purchases to the card, you won’t be able to do so. Besides the main exclusions mentioned above, the DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World is still a pretty fuss-free card that will give you DBS Points on most online spend.
4. DBS Woman’s and Woman’s World Cards: Points Expiry
For both DBS Woman’s Card and DBS Woman’s World credit cards, all reward points you accumulate are only valid for one year.
How do people keep track of their reward points and expiry dates? Get your calendar mobile app working. Set reminders, lock in a date and time to redeem your points.

You also need to spend at least $15,000 (DBS Woman’s Card) or $25,000 (DBS Woman’s World Card) per year if you want to get your annual fee waived after the first year. That kind of works out to $1,250 per month.
If you’re not going to hit $15,000 or $25,000 annually, you’ll have to foot the annual card fee of $160.50 or $192.60 after the first year which is a pretty standard rate for credit cards. However, if you’re well-seasoned in this credit card game, you’d know you can potentially get your fees favoured by calling into customer service.

8. DBS Woman’s Card vs UOB Lady’s Card: which is better?
The UOB Lady’s Card is the most well-known women’s card in Singapore, thanks to aggressive advertising.
Unlike the DBS Woman’s Card, the UOB Lady’s Card is only open to people whose NRICs read “female”.
As for the benefits, the UOB Lady’s Card offers 10X rewards on every $5 spent in one category of your choice, changeable every quarter — travel, dining, beauty/wellness, fashion, transport and entertainment, with the 10X earn rate capped at $1,000 worth of spending each month. All other spending earns 1X point per $5 spent.
The card is thus more generous than the DBS Woman’s Card and on par with the DBS Woman’s World card in terms of maximum rewards points earn rate. The DBS Woman’s World Card does have a higher cap at $2,000 worth of spending, though.
So, which to choose? For shopping purposes, it really depends on whether you’d rather be rewarded for online purchases or “family” and “fashion” purchases.
For instance, if you buy lots of clothes and prefer being able to try them on in person, the UOB Lady’s Card might be more useful as it rewards you for fashion purchases both online and off, while the DBS Woman’s Card only rewards you for online purchases.
Other than that, the two cards don’t really overlap so there’s nothing stopping you from using both.
9. Other rewards credit cards to consider
Not a woman or looking for a different shopping rewards card? Here are our recommendations:
Citi Rewards Card – Earn 10X rewards (4 miles) on online and shopping purchases, ride hailing apps and online food delivery.
Standard Chartered Rewards+ Credit Card – 10X rewards points on overseas retail/dining/travel, 5X rewards points on local dining transactions.
HSBC Revolution Credit Card – 10X rewards points (4 miles or 2.5% cashback) on online and contactless spending.
