Note: This article was written before Singapore’s circuit breaker measures were implemented. Although these malls remain open (for the essential store like supermarkets and pharmacies), most of these promotions have ended.
As it were, retail was already taking a huge hit from the booming e-commerce industry. 2019 saw many brands waving white flags, applying for bankruptcy protection, with some eventually folding for good.

Although those headlines have now been replaced with news about the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, the global pandemic has done the retail sector no favours. In fact, with stay-home notices and work-from-home arrangements, shopping malls are suffering even more.
To encourage shoppers to continue visiting malls, many shopping malls have announced free parking promotions, valid until further notice (probably once the COVID-19 situation eases).
Shopping Malls With Free Parking Until Further Notice (updated 31 Mar 2020)
Here is a list of shopping malls from Capitaland, AsiaMalls, Far East Malls, etc that offer free parking for now. I’ve also organised those in the Orchard and Central Business District (CBD) into a nifty list, since those areas are usually the most expensive.

AsiaMalls — free parking at 5 shopping malls from 22 Feb to 31 Mar 2020

Frasers Malls — free parking at 8 shopping malls from 22 Feb to 31 Mar 2020
M Malls — free parking at AMK Hub & Jurong Point from 28 Feb 2020 M Malls has 3 shopping malls under its name (AMK Hub, Jurong Point and Swing by @ Thomson Plaza), but only 2 are participating in their current free parking promo.

Bonus: best dining & retail shopping credit cards in Singapore
Now, most of these free parking promotions don’t require any minimum spend requirement.
However, if you’re already planning to YOLO and go shopping at Orchard Road, you’re probably going to end up dining out and/or spending money on shopping.
For those purchases, make sure you use the right credit cards.
Some popular cards for dining include:
- Cash Back on Dining, Groceries & Petrol
- Up to 8%
- Cash Back Cap per category, per month
- Min. Spend per month
For retail shopping, consider these:
- on Online Spend*
- S$1= 10X Points
- on All Other Spend
- S$1 = 1 Point
- Annual Fee
- on Online & Visa Contactless Spend
- Up to 5% Cashback
- On all other spend
- 0.3% Cashback
- via RebateMango
- Up to 5.7% cashback
Do note that these promotions are temporary, and standard parking rates will apply outside of the promo hours and after the campaigns are over.
