Sentosa’s original name was Pulau Belakang Mati, which translates to “the Island of Death from Behind”. It’s pretty appropriate, since after a trip to Sentosa it does feel like somebody stabbed you from behind, took your wallet and left you to die.
It’s not all that bad now though, since you can get discounted tickets to Sentosa attractions on sites like KLOOK, Voyagin, Weekend Go Where and Changi Recommends and there are free stuff like the Merlion and Fort Siloso.
But after going to these attractions, it’s hard to avoid starving to death without spending lots of cash. Not all Sentosa restaurants were created equal, after all.
Here are 9 budget-friendly food places in Sentosa that you can have a meal for under $10.

McDonald’s at RWS (from $5)
Take heart! While Sentosa costs a bomb to enter (unless you walk or cycle, then it’s free), The McDonald’s at RWS is not more expensive than any regular McDonald’s outlet. So if you’re on a budget, the cheapest meal you can get on the island is probably the good ol’ Extra Value Meal at Macs that costs only $5.

Toast Box at RWS (from $6.20)
Toast Box is a popular favourite among locals and tourists alike for its traditional Singaporean breakfast sets that feature buttery kaya toasts, half-boiled eggs and a choice of your drink, usually Kopi or Teh. The homegrown cafe also offers Asian Delights Sets with a choice of laksa, curry chicken & rice, mee siam, or mee rebus, paired with a drink. The mee siam is the cheapest food option at $6.20.

Ruyi at RWS (from $6.50)
Ruyi is a fast-food style joint at RWS that serves up affordable Chinese and local fare like dumpling noodles and curry chicken. It’s open 24 hours. You can get a rice or noodle dish from $6.50 to $8.90, and they also have set meals which include a dessert and drink for around $10 to $11.

Central Hong Kong Cafe (from $6.50)
Central Hong Kong Cafe is led by head chef Chiu Ka Wai and offers typical signature dishes found in Hong Kong cafes such as chee cheong fun, wanton noodles and rickshaw noodles. The rickshaw noodles are the cheapest at $6.50. Currently, they are offering lunch sets at only $9.90 with two options: lamian with seafood or crispy chicken rice with a choice of coffee or tea.

KFC at Merlion Plaza (from $6.90)
Another hidden fast food joint that not many people know about is KFC at Merlion Plaza because, well, the only people who bother checking out the merlion are Japanese tourists, given their unusual fascination with the mythical creature. The cheapest meal is the $6.90 2-piece chicken meal.

LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar (from $6.90)
LeNu Chef Wai’s Noodle Bar is a Chinese noodle bar that has a casual setting. It is a chain of restaurants under Paradise Group known for authentic braised beef soup broth and marbled beef. The cheapest meal options are the LeNu Special Dry Noodles ($6.90) and the Noodles with Chicken Chop in Tomato Soup ($7.90).

Malaysian Food Street at RWS (from $8)
Following the demise of the Koufu Sentosa food court at Palawan Beach, which was formerly the cheapest place to eat on the island, hapless visitors on a budget have had trouble finding another.
Thank God for the Malaysian Food Street at Resorts World Sentosa, because it is now the next cheap place to sit down to a meal at Sentosa with a wide variety. You can feast on delights like Penang Assam Laksa, Penang Hainan Lor Mee, Claypot Chicken Rice at $8 per meal.
Obviously, prices are going to be around twice of what you’d pay at a food centre in the heartlands, but this is Sentosa, so they are considered relatively cheap.

Texas Chicken at RWS (from $8.80)
Texas Chicken is a franchise that is popular for its fried chicken, burgers, wraps and sides. The 2-piece chicken meal that comes with a side of mash potato and a drink costs just $8.80, so you can definitely get a meal for under $10 here.

Marrybrown at iFLY (from $8.90)
Marrybrown is Malaysia’s answer to KFC. Crispy chicken, chicken burgers and nasi lemak with fried chicken on the side are some examples of the sorts of things on offer. Singapore’s only Marrybrown outlet is in the iFLY area close to Siloso Beach, and while prices here are double what you’d pay in Malaysia, you can still enjoy a filling set meal for under $10. The Lucky Plate (2-chicken set) is the cheapest meal option, which costs $8.90.
