Mooncake festival, or mooncake festival, takes place on the 10 September 2022, Saturday. On this full moon day, the Chinese legend of goddess Chang-E, her husband Hou Yi, and the sacrificial Jade Rabbit are celebrated over mooncakes and tea as a family.

Raffles Hotel’s classic Double Yolk with white lotus paste mooncakes will be going at $88 for a set of 4. If four full-sized mooncakes sounds a little much, opt for the limited edition 135th anniversary mooncake box ($135) which comes with premium long jing and Imperial Pu-Erh teas as well.

6. Peony Jade Mooncake (Amara Hotel)
Peony Jade, the famed Szechuan and Cantonese Michelin restaurant at Amara Hotel Tanjong Pagar is best known for their traditional flaky Teochew Orh-Nee mooncakes (taro mooncakes).
These flaky pastry skin Teochew mooncakes are hard to come by, and usually are priced at a premium. A set of 4 Double Yolk orh nee mooncakes will set you back by $86.
Too expensive? You’ll have to knock on one of your Teochew auntie’s door to get one of these delicious babies.

7. Ritz Carlton Mooncake
Created by the Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Summer Pavilion, Ritz Carlton’s mooncakes are a mainstay in the local Mid-Autumn festivities.
This year, you’ll be able to find all of Ritz Carlton’s offerings on Lazada. Prices are very competitive, with a default 20% discount across the board. A classic set of 4 Double Yolk white lotus mooncakes will cost you $76.80 after discount. Pretty value for money!

Shangri-La’s mooncake menu is not the widest, but it hits all the right spots. Here, you’ll find classic Single and Double Yolk white lotus seed paste mooncakes with reduced sugar. Prices hover around $86 to $88 for a set of 4.
Otherwise, Shangri-La has a funky (but popular!) classic skin mixed nuts with chicken ham mooncake ($78) that sounds children-friendly.
Finally, you’ll also find Mao Shan Wang mini snowskin mooncakes at $98 for a set of 8.
But… the most signature of all is the bird’s nest custard mini mooncake ($120 for a set of 8).

While Mandarin Oriental offers both classic and snowskin mooncake options online. However, most flavours were snatched up pretty quickly, leaving only an assortment box ($82 for 8 mini snowskin) available for sale.
There are no ongoing Mandarin Oriental mooncake promotions.

10. Peach Garden Mooncake
Another renowned mooncake maker is the Chinese restaurant chain, Peach Garden. Peach Garden’s entire range of mooncakes are on Shopee with delivery dates through 10 September still available for booking.
A classic set of 4 Double Yolk white lotus paste mooncakes will set you back by $75.97, while mini snowskin mooncakes will cost you $72.76. All prices are inclusive of shipping.
11. InterContinental Mooncake
Known for their beautiful afternoon high tea sets and pastries, InterContinental Singapore (at Bugis) is another favourite when it comes to mooncakes.
Classic Single and Double Yolk white lotus seed paste mooncakes range from $82 to $86 for a set of 4, while snowskin flavoured mooncakes such as Thai Cheese Milk Tea, Lychee Oolong, and Passionfruit Early Grey are priced at $98 for a set of 4.
InterContinental’s signature mooncake, the Negroni Truffle snowskin mooncake is priced at $126 for a set of 4.

You’ll be able to find Marriott Hotel (Tang Plaza)’s mooncakes on Shopee this year.
A classic set of 4 Single Yolk white lotus seed paste mooncakes is priced at $84. But there’s a 20% discount ongoing, which means you’ll be paying $67.20 instead.
For the adventurous tastebuds, there’s a luxurious Jamon Iberico ham and Single Yolk gold dusted set of 4 black truffle mooncakes going at $88 (now $70.40). All prices come with shipping included.

When you’re cashing in money for a top-notch hotel brand like Fullerton, you’d want to go big on the famed Clifford Pier’s sweets.

Crystal Jade Mooncake
Everyone’s favourite la mian shop also has a bakery, and you can now order mooncakes on their website. This year, other than their traditional baked single and double yolk and white lotus paste with yolk mooncakes, Crystal Jade has concocted yuzu, and fruity mini snowskin mooncakes.

Tai Chong Kok Mooncake
This shop has been crafting handmade mooncakes and Cantonese pastries for longer than most of us have been alive. It’s been 87 years and Tai Chong Kok still at it.
Its mooncake offerings for 2022 include white lotus paste with four (!!) yolks, red bean mooncakes. There’re also ‘piglets’ in basket and gongzai biscuits, as well as pretty box sets to send as gifts.
Kele Mooncake
This is a festive shop cleverly marketed to the Internet generation with a compelling website and snappy copy. Kele specialises in pastries for special occasions, including pineapple tarts and mooncakes.
The selection consists mainly of snow skin mooncakes in flavours like avocado, durian, mango, lychee martini etc.

Old Seng Choong Mooncake
Despite this shop’s old-school sounding name, it is actually run by the founder of the former Bakerzin that closed for good in 2020. Old Seng Choong offers a small selection of mostly classic lotus paste mooncakes.

Meixin Mooncake
Hong Kong Mei Xin bakery specialises in mooncakes and the brand has even won numerous awards for their confectioneries. They have an extensive selection of traditional and snowy mooncakes, as well as lava and custard mooncakes for those looking for a gooier experience.
Swensens Mooncake
Swensen’s is better known for their ice cream sundaes and baked rice, but yes, it also sells mooncakes during the festive season.
This year, expect mochi-snowskin ice cream mooncakes with the Swensen’s logo emblazoned across them, available in a range of flavours including sticky chewy chocolate, sea salt gula melaka, and Mao Shan Wang.
Putien Mooncake
This local’s favourite, Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant has been quietly offering a special mooncake selection called Madam Leng’s Handmade Mooncake.
Even though they are from Fujian (Hokkien), Putien’s mooncake is actually similar to that of a Teochew Orh-Nee mooncake – purple sweet potato and taro filling with flaky pastry skin and salted egg yolks. Prices start from $40.70 for a box of 2 mooncakes.
Thye Moh Chan Mooncake
From a simple bakery that gradually made its name over 70 years ago, Thye Moh Chan is now a chain owned by the BreadTalk group.
Expect a classic selection of the usual lotus, yam, assorted nuts and durian mooncakes, as well as tau sar (mung bean paste) to supplement your moon-viewing sessions. You’ll also find a traditional flat and wide teochew mooncake available.
Historically, the most popular choice is one that combines spicy pork floss, salted egg yolk and savoury mung bean.
Gin Thye Mooncake
Established in 1964, Gin Thye specialises in Asian pastries and has been recognised by the National Heritage Board.
They also started selling ice cream white rabbit snowskin mooncake a few years back – inspired by the nostalgic White Rabbit sweets everyone here grew up with, as well as bamboo charcoal Mao Shan Wang for durian lovers.
