There’s a 7-storey mirror maze, Asia’s tallest golden luminarie Christmas tree, and an outdoor ice-skating rink from Switzerland – in other words, it’s the most “Christmas-y” place in Singapore.
From ticketed shows by celebrity illusionist Rob Lake to free live shows by local artists, here’s what you can expect see and how much you can expect to spend at the massive yuletide fair.

4 times a night, the Luminarie and Supertrees areas will experience “winter”! The pseudo-snow show starts at 6.30pm, 7.55pm, 8.55pm and 10pm daily, and lasts for 5 minutes each time.
Festive market at Supertree Grove
I expect this to be the most popular attraction of Christmas Wonderland 2018, because this is where most of the food and booze are at. The festive market is inspired by European Christmas markets, and feature 24 wooden huts that are specially modelled after those in Hyde Park, London and Champs-Elysees, Paris.
The pop-up stores sell Christmas crafts, vintage trinkets, and festive foods and beverages. Check out the full list of merchants on the Christmas Wonderland website here.
On selected evenings, there will also be live music performances by local artists (see the yuletide shows below) and carolling by school choirs.
For more food options, you can also check out the Slice of SAVOUR market, which is an F&B concept, featuring the SAVOUR group brands like Sinfonia, Bee’s Knees, Blue Lotus and more.
Garden Rhapsody (The Christmas Special) at the Supertrees
If you’ve ever been to GBTB, you’d be familiar with their nightly Supertree light show. For Christmas, the multi-coloured illuminations are paired with popular Christmas songs for that extra festive oomph. The shows are at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, daily.
Santa’s Grotto at the Alpine House
Santa’s Grotto is the homeland of Santa Claus – the alpine house is decorated with stunning lights, including kinetic light installations from Germany. This is also where you can have a meet-and-greet with the gift-giving grandpa (Santa Claus will be there from4pm to 10.30pm daily).
The luminarie is the main light attraction of Christmas Wonderland 2018, with Asia’s tallest illuminated Christmas tree. The entire attraction actually took 160,000 bulbs, 12 men and 30 days to install!
Accompanying the impressive tree are over 50 light sculptures, all of which were lovingly handmade with white wood, by skilled Italian craftsmen. Also, don’t miss the 7-storey mirror maze! The luminarie is open from 7pm to midnight, daily.
Yuletide acoustic live shows
As mentioned above, the Christmas Wonderland festive market is also the stage for a line-up of exciting performances by some of Singapore’s most well-loved artists. The shows take place from 9.30pm to 10pm on selected nights.
The performers include Joanna Dong (26 Dec), Sara Wee, Joie Tan and JAWN (15 Dec) and more. For the full schedule, check out the official Christmas Wonderland 2018 website.
Christmas Wonderland 2018 attractions & highlights (optional, additional costs apply)
Now, onto the paid attractions of Christmas Wonderland 2018:
|Christmas Wonderland 2018 attraction||What it is||Price|
|Christmas carnival||Festive funfair with kiddy rides and carnival games||From $4 for games and $6 for rides|
|Skating under the stars||Outdoor ice-skating||$10 for 30 minutes, includes skates rental but not socks|
|The Magic of Rob Lake||45-minute magic show by celebrity illusionist Rob Lake||$16 to $20|
Christmas carnival – from $4 per game
Sorry to say, you’ll have to pay to join in the Uncle Ringo-esque fun. And like all carnivals… it’s expensive. The games are priced $4 and up, while the kiddy rides are from $6.
Perfect for the children, the fair includes carnival game booths – like the Ring Toss – as well as kiddy rides like bumper cars, mini ferris wheels and the likes.
Skating Under the Stars – $10 per 30 minutes
I’m not usually a fan of skating, but I imagine it would be quite an experience to make figure-8s at the illuminated wonderland. That novel experience costs extra – $10 per 30 minutes, to be exact.
The outdoor skating rink is fancy though, so it may just be worth your money and time. The rink was imported from the snow globe-land of Switzerland, and features an 8-metre illuminated Christmas tree in the middle.
The fee includes your skates rental, but you need to bring your own socks. The rink is open from 4pm to 11pm daily.
The Magic of Rob Lake – tickets from $12
The most expensive highlight of Christmas Wonderland 2018 is The Magic of Rob Lake – a 45-minute magic show by celebrity illusionist Rob Lake.
|Christmas Wonderland 2018 + The Magic of Rob Lake tickets||Adult||Child||Family & friends bundle (4 pax, online only)|
|Green (for 30 Nov to 6 Dec 2018)||$16||$12||$56 ($14 per ticket)|
|Red (for 7 to 13 Dec 2018)||$18||$14||$64 ($16 per ticket)|
|Gold (for 14 to 26 Dec 2018)||$20||$16||$72 ($18 per ticket)|
Lake was a quarter-finalist on America’s Got Talent 2018, and received the Merlin Award for his talents. His shows are at 7pm and 9pm from Tuesdays to Sundays, and 5pm on select days. The above prices are for online purchases, but you can get the tickets at the ticketing booth as well (subject to availability).
