Singtel has always been known to be one of the most secure and reliable networks in Singapore. Faced with tough competition from mobile virtual network operators (MNVOs), Singtel has introduced a new SIM only plan known as GOMO and revamped their 2-year post-paid plans. Let’s check them out.
Singtel GOMO plan review (20GB for $20)
GOMO is Singtel’s no-contract, SIM only mobile plan and stands for “Get Out More Often”. More than merely a phone plan, GOMO also offers exclusive 1-for-1 dining deals at selected restaurants and cafes as well as discounts at concerts and events. They also give out what they call ‘GOMO Gifts’ such as GOJEK and Shopee vouchers to thank users for using their services.
The Singtel GOMO plan gives you 20 GB of data, 200 minutes of talktime, free incoming calls, free caller ID service and 200 SMSes for $20 per month. It’s probably the most economical plan in the market right now compared to others offering the same amount of data. Circles Life’s base plan, also with 20 GB, costs $18 only if you port your number over (usual price $28).
If 20 GB is not enough for you to watch all your friends’ instastories, there’s a $10 add-on option, which gives you an additional 10 GB of data, 100 minutes of talktime and 100 SMSes. These will be valid for 30 days.
Going overseas is made easy too. For $10, you get 1 GB of data roaming in 10 destinations including Australia, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines and South Korea. You can activate this Data Roaming Pump the day before or right before your departure at the airport.
Registration and SIM card (same day delivery) worth $48.15 is free.
Singtel Combo plans
Singtel’s Combo plans require a contract of 24 months, which in turn allows you to buy a phone at a subsidised rate. The higher-priced plans come with entertainment features like Entertainment Plus worth $5.90 per month, which includes channels like AXN and Warner TV. Others are HOOQ worth $7.90 per month, which gives you access to 10,000 movies and TV series, and HBO GO worth $13.98 per month.
The Combo plans are great for families, under what they term as the “Singtel Circle”. By bundling your mobile, fibre and TV services, you can get up to 30% off your mobile plans, 50% off MobileShare supplementary lines, a yearly handset upgrade and free unlimited mobile data every Sunday.
Singtel Combo 1: $27.90 per month with 100 MB of data, 100 minutes of talktime and 500 SMSes

Note that for Combos 3, 6, and 12, “unlimited talktime” is always capped at 10,000 local minutes and “unlimited SMSes” is always capped at 10,000 SMSes.
For Combos 2 and above, you have options to increase your data by two times ($5.90 per month), three times ($9.90 per month) or four times ($19.90 per month). Still not enough? Go for the Data x Infinity to have unlimited data at $29.90 per month if you are a new Singtel user or if you recontract with a Combo 3 of higher. The usual price for data infinity is $39.90.
A one-time sign up fee of $10.70 applies for all new sign ups to increase data and there’s a minimum subscription duration of 24 months.
Singtel XO plans
XO plans are Singtel’s new 2-year contract plans that gives you free weekend data, which is a very attractive deal for people who make full use of their weekends hanging out outside their home. However, they do not come with Singtel Wifi.
The flexibility to increase your data in different degrees, like in the Combo 2, 3, 6 and 12 plans, is not applicable to XO plans. If you need more data, you can get another 18 GB of data for $18.
XO 48: $48 per month with 5 GB of data, 100 minutes of talktime, 100 SMSes and 24 months of Entertainment Plus. For a limited time now, you get an extra 5 GB, giving you a total of 10 GB per month.

Conclusion — are Singtel phone plans any good?
Singtel has always been an incumbent telco in Singapore, largely because of their reliable network.
Generally, Singtel phone plans are great for…
1. Families who want bundle discounts and added convenience.
Singtel has family-friendly bundle plans that allow you to conveniently meet your needs for television entertainment, home internet and phone internet – all at one go.
Another family-friendly feature is Singtel’s MobileShare at $12.90 per month, which allows customers to share their plan’s data, talktime and SMS with family members, each with their own phone number (up to 3). The bonus data that you purchase can be shared too.
2. Customers who prefer SIM only plans.
Because they’re expensive, most people only consider contract plans for the mobile phone subsidies that come with it. But if you’re not gunning for the latest iPhone and don’t mind a SIM only plan, Singtel’s GOMO gives you the most value for what you pay for compared to other similar plans in the market right now.
The lifestyle perks like 1-for-1 Hungrygowhere deals and other vouchers make it even more attractive.
3. Customers eyeing exclusive phone deals.
At times, Singtel has exclusive phone release deals. Last year, Singtel announced that they are the exclusive carrier partner of the Razer Phone 2 in Singapore, giving Singtel customers first dibs on the gaming lifestyle brand’s new flagship phone.
