Just because the Orchard Road malls are getting no love from Singaporeans doesn’t mean there are fewer shopaholics around. People are just taking their money and spending it online instead.

Unfortunately, shipping costs can be really annoying when you want to get a good deal online. There’s nothing worse than your shipping fee being more expensive than the cost of your purchases. If you hate paying for shipping or meeting insane minimum spend requirements to get it waived, here’s a list of 13 online retailers that offer free shipping to Singapore:

Type of retailer Online shopping site Min. spend for free shipping

Gifts Animi Causa
Beauty Beauty Bay S$28
Strawberrynet S$50 (2nd order onwards)
Fashion ASOS S$20

Book Depository (books)

Every Singaporean bookworm should have Book Depository bookmarked on their browser already. In case you don’t know about it, it’s a website where you can find pretty much any book you want for much cheaper than at physical stores, AND shipping to Singapore is free. (Pro tip: You can buy discount Moleskine notebooks from here too.)

Minimum spend for free shipping: None

Better World Books (books)

Most Singaporeans turn to Carousell for used books and textbooks, but you can get them at UK-based online bookstore Better World Books as well. The site also sells new books. Like Book Depository, they also ship internationally for free.

Minimum spend for free shipping: None

Animi Causa (home decor & gifts)

Online retailer Animi Causa sells quirky home accessories, kitchenware and gift items that range from wall decals to dinosaur-shaped tea infusers. They also offer free international shipping, which will come in handy if you decide to order a massive furniture item.

Minimum spend for free shipping: None

Fishpond (toys & gifts)

Fishpond is another all-purpose retailer that offers free worldwide shipping. They’ve got an extensive book collection as well as toys, homeware, baby products, health and beauty products and even jewellery.

Note that their stock comes from 3rd party warehouses and logistics providers, so you don’t know if your purchase will be shipped from Malaysia or Uruguay. Therefore, be prepared to wait a little for your loot.

Minimum spend for free shipping: None

Beauty Bay (beauty)

Beauty Bay specialises in mostly affordable to mid-range skincare, haircare, makeup, nail and bath and body products. You won’t have to bulk-buy here as there’s a really low minimum spend required for free international shipping.

Minimum spend for free shipping: S$28 (standard delivery) or S$91 (tracked)

Strawberrynet (beauty)

Strawberrynet sells a wide range of skincare, haircare and cosmetic products, as well as perfumes, often at much lower prices than you’d pay at a retail store in Singapore. Worldwide shipping is free with no minimum spend on your first order, and free for orders of $50 and above subsequently. Note that surcharges may apply for perfumes and haircare products.

Minimum spend for free shipping: S$50

ASOS (fashion)

UK-based fast fashion and high street retailer ASOS is super popular amongst Singaporean uni students and office workers, and it’s easy to see why. Items are generally decent quality and affordable, plus it’s so easy to hit the minimum spend for free shipping.

Minimum spend for free shipping: S$20 (standard delivery) or S$250 (express delivery, enter promo code EXPRESSSING at checkout)

Chicwish (fashion)

It’s frothy layers, embroidery, lace and florals galore at ultra-feminine and vintage-inspired online shopping site Chicwish. Shipping to Singapore is free (including import taxes) with no minimum spend.

Luisaviaroma (designer fashion)

If you’re not a fan of the high street/fast fashion aesthetic – or don’t want to be caught in the same outfit as your nemesis/coworker – check out multi-brand shopping site Luisaviaroma. It’s dedicated to edgy designer items, with a focus on European brands. Express shipping AND import duties are included in the price so you don’t have to worry about additional costs.

Minimum spend for free shipping: None

Modcloth (fashion)

Wildly popular online clothing store Modcloth is a hit among women who like that vintage, retro aesthetic. It’s a goldmine of gorgeous plus size clothing too. The minimum order for free international shipping is a tiny bit steep so try combining your order with family or friends.

Minimum spend for free shipping: US$75

Shopbop (designer fashion)

Shopbop is one of the most popular shopping sites among Singaporeans who are willing to pay more for luxury/cult fashion brands but would not be caught dead carrying something as common as an LV monogrammed bag.

But hey, just because you’re willing to pay for a designer brand doesn’t mean you should get ripped off on shipping fees. You’ll glad to know there’s free shipping if your order is over US$100, while orders under that amount cost only US$10 to ship.

Minimum spend for free shipping: US$100

Uniqlo (fashion)

Welcome to Uniqlo! This Japanese casual wear retailer needs no introduction as it’s practically ubiquitous in Singapore shopping malls. (Check out our pick of the most value-for-money travel buys from Uniqlo.) Their online store offers free shipping on all orders above $60, while orders under $60 cost only $6 to ship.

Minimum spend for free shipping: S$60

Zalora (fashion)

Online retailer Zalora has transformed from being the poor cousin of ASOS, to a really legit online fashion emporium in a matter of years. Its biggest selling point is that it stocks brand names familiar to Singaporeans, like Topshop, Abercrombie & Fitch, Levi’s, Superga and Nike.

Shipping is free with a minimum spend of $40. By the way, you can opt for cash on delivery… but why would you want to, when so many credit and debit cards are offering Zalora promo codes?

Minimum spend for free shipping: S$40

iHerb (wellness)

iHerb is awesome for healthy snacks, organic toiletries and health supplements at great prices – mostly way cheaper than you’d pay for them at Watson’s or Cold Storage. Shipping is free with a minimum spend of US$40.

Minimum spend for free shipping: US$40

In my previous life, I was a property lawyer who spent most of my time struggling to get out of bed or stuck in peak hour traffic. These days, as a freelance commercial writer, I work in bed, on the beach, in parks and at cafes, all while being really frugal. I like helping other people save money so they can stop living lives they don't like.
