Since it was introduced in 2017, the UOB YOLO Card has become the best credit card in Singapore for weekend dining and entertainment. And UOB has made it even better.
For new cardmembers who sign up and are approved by 30 Jun 2018, you get up to 12% rebate all week on dining, entertainment and Grab rides in your first 3 months. Here’s how it works.
- Weekends: 8% cashback (standard) + 4% bonus (first 3 months)
- Weekdays: 3% cashback (standard) + 9% bonus (first 3 months)
- Bonus cashback is capped at $40 a month
- Maximum you can get in total rebates is $100 a month
And if that sweet 12% cashback isn’t enough reason to sign up for the card, here are 6 other benefits and promotions you can enjoy with the UOB YOLO Card.
1. Enjoy 3% rebates online fashion and travel
The UOB YOLO Card allows you to enjoy 3% rebates on your online spending on fashion and key travel websites including Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Agoda, Expedia etc. You will also get free travel insurance of up to S$500,000 when you charge your travel tickets to UOB YOLO.
But before you go overboard, note that the rebates you earn from all your spending on the UOB YOLO Card is capped at $100 a month in total. That’s $60 for regular cashback + $40 for the bonus in the first 3 months for new cardmembers.
2. Up to 12% rebate on Grab rides for the first 3 months
UOB is running a juicy Grab promo for new YOLO cardmembers if you sign up by 30 Jun 2018. For the first 3 months after credit card approval, you get up to 12% cashback on Grab rides every day.
Existing cardmembers will get 8% cashback on weekend Grab rides, and 3% on weekday Grab rides.
3. 1-for-1 buffets and other dining privileges
UOB has long been known for their dining privileges and the YOLO Card continues that reputation. Not only do you enjoy up to 12% rebates on dining every day, but at selected restaurants you can enjoy 1-for-1 buffets and other dining privileges too.
Check out the UOB YOLO website to find out about the latest deals. These offers are regularly refreshed to include new merchants, so do revisit the page often or follow them on Instagram @IWANNAYOLO.
4. Best rebate card for your movie and concert dates
The up to 12% rebate promotion applies to Entertainment spending as well. This includes bars, clubs, cinemas and ticketing servicing providers such as Sistic.
On top of that, the UOB YOLO Card gives you additional rebates and perks at cinemas. There is an additional 2% SMART$ rebate at Cathay Cineplexes, so with the 12% rebate you currently earn, that adds up to 14%!
But YOLO isn’t just about food and entertainment. Signing up for the UOB YOLO Card also means financial benefits.
5. Spending on the UOB YOLO Card counts towards the UOB One Account as well
The UOB One Account is one of the easiest savings accounts in Singapore to earn interest, allowing you to earn up to 3.33% p.a. interest.
Since you should ideally be spending at least $600 on the UOB YOLO Card to enjoy the higher rebates, it also helps you to meet the $500 credit card spend requirement to earn higher interest on the UOB One Account.
6. Kickstart your investment journey with UOB Young Professionals Solution
What’s more, if you sign up for UOB’s Young Professionals Solution, you can channel your earned interest and rebates into investing in unit trusts. With the optional Sweep feature, you can buy unit trusts with your earned interest and cashback rebates and enjoy zero sales charge for your monthly investment.
Sweep only allows you to invest in one unit trust fund – the United SGD Fund, a low to medium risk investment product by UOB. And because it’s optional, you can choose to join or leave and stop channelling your accumulated interest to the unit trust fund anytime.
What’s more, you get a welcome gift if you sign up before 30 June 2018 – $100 worth of unit trusts in the United SGD Fund.
